Join me on Thursday, December 7th at 9 am PST // 12pm EST for an experiential Lunch & Learn Virtual Workshop hosted by the Indigenous Primary Health Care Council (IPHCC) - we will discuss how the practice of Yoga, breathwork, and trauma-informed strategies may be integrated into Indigenous community wellness programming. Following the workshop, a 6 video practice series will be shared, titled: “Medicine Wheel Movement & Breathwork Series”.

Introduction to Yoga & Breathwork for Indigenous Communities - Virtual Workshop
Tailored specifically for individuals working in First Nations communities in Ontario, this workshop is designed to promote well-being for community front-line workers and health professionals. Led by Jessica Barudin, a proud member of the ‘Namgis First Nation, this workshop provides a thoughtful exploration of the practice and tradition of Yoga, examining its evolution and appropriation in the West. Discover respectful approaches to engage with yoga while concurrently reclaiming and celebrating your culture, identity, and language.
The workshop offers a safe and inclusive space for participants to learn about the intersection of Yoga and Indigenous wisdom. Following the discussion, Jessica guides attendees through a breathwork and meditation practice and introduces the Medicine Wheel Movement & Breathwork Practice Video series, presented by the IPHCC.
Medicine Wheel Movement & Breathwork Practice Video Series
This unique movement and breathwork series inspired by Anishinaabe medicine wheel teachings, created and led by Jessica Barudin (Kwakwaka’wakw) thoughtfully integrates elements of the Medicine Wheel are woven alongside wisdom from Yogic and Western Science to offer tools for nervous system regulation and balance in body, mind, emotions, and spirit.
Participants will experience purposefully crafted yoga sequences promoting balance, clarity, and strength. Jessica's guidance ensures cultural sensitivity and inclusivity, making the series accessible to all levels of experience. Beyond a physical practice this series offers a pathway to self-discovery. Each session incorporates healing soundscapes and guided meditations, creating a sacred space for relaxation and emotional renewal.
